Alcohol ban may be taken off at TCF
A bill is currently being passed through the Minnesota State Senate to take off the “all or nothing” law on selling alcohol at the TCF Bank Stadium. The U of M had earlier only wanted to sell alcohol in premium seating to cut back on the amount of drunken students roaming around the stadium section. The bill is backed by the Senate Finance Committee and now it needs to get passed through the full chamber. Since the U has roughly missed out on $1 million due to the alcohol ban, they have rethought their opinion. The U of M proposed they would give all the profits from the selling of alcohol at the TCF to athletic scholarships. There are a few raised eyebrows in the Minnesota House of Reps, so there’s no saying what will happen.
