TCF Bank Stadium Parking

As a side note to my previous TCF Bank Parking entry, I just noticed that parking for the Gophers Badgers football game is a super hot item. I found TCF Bank Stadium parking passes in the Gopher Lot which is actually on the TCF Bank property are selling for $195 per space. I bet a lot of Badger fans will scoop up the spots just so they can drink beer, eat brats and throw a football around just like they do before Badger games at Camp Randall Stadium. Doesn’t that sound fun? I just hope to see more maroon and gold in those TCF Bank Stadium parking spots than red and white.

Gophers vs Badgers Tickets at TCF Bank Stadium

Inside TCF Bank Stadium which University of Minnesota officials want to see filled with Gold on Game Day

Hottest game at TCF Bank Stadium this year: Gophers vs Badgers

Now that the Gophers won their Big 10 opener against Northwestern Wildcats today (way to go Gophers!), you can bet that Gophers vs Badgers tickets only became more popular (if that was possible!). TCF Bank Stadium will be rocking.

Remember the Gopher Badgers game is the Saturday before the Monday night Vikings Packers game and there will be tons of Wisconsin fans in town looking for something to do. It’s $195 to get in the door from Ticket King. I bet those prices won’t be going down either. Don’t let Wisconsin Badger fans rule at TCF Bank Stadium, be sure to scoop up the TCF Bank Stadium tickets and wear gopher maroon and gold.

TCF Bank Stadium Tailgating Rules from the University of Minnesota Gopher Sports Website

For a great many Gopher football games, tailgating outside of the new TCF Bank Stadium is just as fun as actually going to the game (and if you are lucky enough to have Gophers Football Tickets and get to tailgate, well then you are really lucky!) With TCF Bank Stadium's alcohol rules and the parking shortage I thought I would post the University enforced rules about pre and post game tailgating... This information came directly from the Gopher Sports website and I thought you all might want to read it before heading out to TCF Bank Stadium for the next Gophers football game.

The University of Minnesota permits tailgating on football game days in designated surface parking lots, during specified hours and under other general conditions. Tailgating may begin 6 hours before game time, but no earlier than 7 am. Tailgating must end 4 hours after game time or midnight, whichever comes first. All vehicles must leave the parking lots when they close at midnight. Green space within a parking lot or within 15 feet of a designated surface parking lot may be used for tailgating by the participants assigned to that parking lot. Tailgating is NOT permitted on any other University of Minnesota property, including parking ramps and garages. These policies are intended to enhance the football game day experience, promote a safe campus environment and preserve the beauty of our campus. Please park in designated lots provided for game day parking. Illegal parking will be strictly enforced, on and off campus, and will be subject to tagging and towing at owner's expense.

Tailgating Rules:

The following items and activities are allowed in lots:
-Gas grills with a maximum propane cylinder size of 20 pounds
-Consumption of alcoholic beverages by persons of legal drinking age, and in compliance with all applicable state laws, city ordinances and University policies
-Portable outdoor furniture
-Tents and awnings that do not block adjacent parking spaces, impede drive aisles or require the use of stakes
-Portable generators

The following items and activities ARE NOT ALLOWED in lots:
-NO CHARCOAL
-Kegs, party balls, drinking game accessories and large quantity or common source containers of alcoholic beverages
-Glass containers of any kind, including bottles and cups
-Open fires fueled by charcoal, wood or other combustible materials of any kind
-Disruptive music or noise
-Couches or other large furniture items
-Promotional or marketing activities without appropriate authorization from the University
-Sale of products, food or beverages except as authorized by the University
-Occupying more than one parking space
-Saving a parking space for someone else

Tailgating Conduct

Tailgaters must:
-Respect other people and property
-Properly dispose of trash
-Cooperate with law enforcement authorities and University personnel
-Comply with all applicable University, city, state and federal rules, policies, ordinances and laws -Violation of any University of Minnesota Tailgating Rules could result in fines and loss of game tickets and tailgating Privileges.

TCF Bank Stadium Parking Spots are just as coveted as game tickets

One of the Coveted TCF Bank Parking Lots
On most college campuses Saturday football games are preceded by tailgating. On the University of Minnesota Minneapolis Campus this practice has become a ticketed event due to the lack of parking around the TCF Bank Stadium.

There is virtually no street parking and spots in all of the U of M parking lots and ramps have been sold for season passes. What does it mean? Unless you have a season parking pass or have bought one game off of someone else's season parking pass... DO NOT DRIVE to TCF Bank Stadium, you won't find parking.

Online ticket companies, like Ticket King, are selling passes for parking along with Gophers Football tickets. In an article on KSTP, Michael Nowakowski of Ticket King said that he had found that customers are not aware of the parking shortage and many show up expecting to find a spot to leave their car.

Don't be one of these misinformed fans! You heard it hear, you must have a parking spot if you plan on not walking for miles on end to get to the stadium.
